Pieter-Jan VerhoyenAt the age of 6 Pieter-Jan Verhoyen started to follow private piano lessons with Marie-Noëlle Damien. He continued his studies with Arlette Vanheste (Conservatory of Ostend) and Heidi Henderickx (MAGO Antwerpen). At the Conservatory of his hometown Bruges he followed lessons in the class of Ann Roelens. In June of 2014 he became a student of Marjes Benoist at the Sweelinck Academy, the young talent department of the Conservatory of Amsterdam. Since 2008 Pieter-Jan followed masterclasses in piano (Levente Kende, André De Groote) and fortepiano (Jos Van Immerseel, Claire Chevallier, Richard Egarr). In September of 2014 he got admitted to the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, in the class of Jan Michiels. Pieter-Jan is a laureate of several competitions such as the Cantabile Piano Competition, the Concours Musical de France, the Steinway Competition For The Youth, the Concours de Piano de Liege and Belfius Classics. As a soloist he performed with the Strijkorkest van de Kust, the orchestra Sturm und Klang and the orchestra of the Conservatory of Bruges. He took part in the international chamber music courses of Musica Mundi in Genval and the Young Talent Courses of Arco Baleno. There he formed in 2009 the piano trio Trio Telepatico, together with violinist Jeroen De Beer and cellist Martijn Dendievel. Together they got a first price in Belfius Classics and a spot in the finale of the Storioni Competition. They released their first CD in 2014. Since 2013 Pieter-Jan accompagnies at the International Flute Seminar Bruges. In August of 2015 he started a duo with Polish flutist Natalia Jarząbek. Together they played recitals in Belgium, Germany, Poland and the United Kingdom.

Natalia JarząbekNatalia Jarząbek started to play the flute at the age of 12 studying with
Wiesław Suruło and Marta Murzyn (L. Różycki Primary Music School in Myślenice). She continued her studies in Kraków with Stanisław Pawlik (W. Żeleński Music High School). Currently she is a student of Academy of Music in Kraków (class of Barbara Świątek-Żelazna). She also was a student of Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt in Weimar (class of Wally Hase) participating in the Erasmus+ Exchange Program. Her abilities and artistic personality are highly regarded on nationwide and international competitions, such as The British Flute Society Competition, The Dutch Flute Competition, Michał Spisak International Music Competition, Stockholm International Music Competition and many others. She took part in many flute masterclasses and collaborated with great musicians and conductors around the world, such as: William Bennett, Denis Bouriakov, James Galway, Steven Isserlis and many others. She is a laureate of many scholarships, such as Minister of Culture and National Heritage Młoda Polska 2015, the City of Kraków and many others as acknowledgment of her achievements. In 2015 she recorded a solo piece on the CD of Grammy Award winner-polish jazzman Włodek Pawlik. She collaborates with many orchestras, such as Sinfonietta Cracovia, Kalisz Philharmonic, Orchestra Concertino, Philharmonisches Kammerorchester Wernigerode. She also performed several times as a soloist with them. Since 2010 Natalia has been a Pro Musica Bona Foundation scholar, thanks to which she has had an opportunity to perform solo and as an orchestra musician. Thanks to the Foundation she has also participated in CD recordings. As a soloist, she performed in France, Germany, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Italy, Slovenia, Sweden, Ukraine, Slovakia and in many polish concert halls. Since 2015 Natalia cooperates with Belgian pianist Pieter-Jan Verhoyen, playing music for flute and piano. In 2016 they performed on the BFS Flutastique! Festival in London, sharing the stage with famous flutists such as: William Bennett, Denis Bouriakov, Rachel Brown and Lorna McGhee. The CD project 900 Miles is an effect of their yearly cooperation. |
